Finland, my country, is seen as cold and melancholic place. We commit a lot of suicides and we drink a lot. Our plants can grow only a couple months a year. But some how we find all this sadness inspiring. There are even songs written about finnish cold, blue atmosphere. This picture wants to tell that story.

Beautiful picture. I have never been to Finland but it looks beautiful on tv, they also have some of the best rock n roll bands in the world from there. :)

Yeah! :) I'm still not sure though. Personally, I'd like to live further up north, but the most likely locations are either Helsinki (or Espoo), Tampere or Turku.

I'm making plans to travel around europe this summer, and Finland is one of my possible destinations :)

That's cool. :> I actually live in Turku! Tampere is very nice, too! Helsinki has a typical capital reputation, kinda like the New York of Finland. Some people like that atmosphere but I like the warmer feeling. But Helsinki has very rich culture! (But so does Turku. Turku is the culture capital of Finland and the year of culture is in 2011! So there is a looooot of things to see!)

Cool :) So far I have only been to Helsinki; I'd like to visit Tampere and Turku this time around :) I still haven't planned my trip though, so I'm still not sure if I'm going to Finland or somewhere else :p Either way, I'll be going in late July/early August and I need to start looking at transports and places to stay quite soon!

I wasn't aware of the fact that Turku is going to be the culture capital of Finland in 2011 :) Sounds like a good excuse to go there :)

How are you doing? I assume that you're on vacation at the moment, right? :)

Hmm, I thought I had replied already, but I don't think the message was saved. Crap :/

Anyway, I did get back from my vacation now! I didn't go to Finland, I ended up travelling through Italy, Slovenia, Austria and the Czech Republic, so I'll probably be going to Finland next year instead :)

10-15 hours at work every day? Ouch! That's rough, I bet my vacation assumption would have been a lot better, right? :) Were you working like that during the entire summer?

So how is everything going now? I hope you're not having to work as much! :) Don't worry about the reply delay... As you can probably see, I haven't been on dA that often myself. Do you happen to have a facebook or msn account? It might be easier to talk there :)
